Alterdeep is one of the adventures in the campaign Waterdeep: Dragon Heist.

Variants

Elder Rune Attack

	Find your way out of Extremiton's nefarious trap while dealing with random Elder Runes.
Requirements	Must have completed "Alterdeep"
Objectives	Complete Area 350
Restrictions	Whenever you change perspective between Seadeeps and Alterdeep (Areas 1, 21, & 41) the party is affected by a different Elder Rune. The bane effect of the Elder Rune will persist until you change perspective again.

Additional	Elder Runes Halaster: Whenever an enemy spawns, a random Champion takes 20% of their max HP as damage. Korombos: Each area a random formation slot is debuffed. Any Champion in that formation slot is stunned. The effect lasts until you change areas. Savaros: Monsters drop 90% less gold. Lammath: Champions base attack cooldown is increased by 50%. Note: Wave 1~20: Halaster - Wave 21~40: Korombos - Wave 41~50: Savaros - Wave 51~70: Lammath - Wave 71 ahead: cycle again starting by Halaster.

The Gargoyle

	Find your way out of Extremiton's nefarious trap to recruit a new Champion.
Requirements	Must have completed "Alterdeep" Must have completed 45 Dragon Heist adventures or variants.
Objectives	Complete Area 400
Restrictions	Generally only Champions with a magic base attack can be used, but a few extra helping hands tag along as well. In each non-boss area, enemies from a different faction attack. The faction members will not count toward quest progress, nor will they drop gold. Each faction also has a unique boon granted by Halaster which will be active for the entire area.

Additional	Faction boons Zhentarim Boon - Spawn: Zhentarim Spy - Champions base attack cooldown is increased by 2 seconds. Xanathar Boon - Spawn: Xanathar Fighter - Enemies deal 300% additional damage. Cassalanters Boon - Spawn: Abyssal Chicken - 5 Abyssal Chickens spawn immediately. Mad Mage Boon - Champion healing is reduced by 50%. In addition to magic-attackers, Jarlaxe, Nayeli, Tyril and Arkhan can be added. Therefor there's an option for every slot and some basic tanking available.
